This is my first install of Desktop manager software (no older version where installed) I have changed the power setting on my Laptop USB ports Phone version is 6.0 bundle 2647 Desktop Manger version is 6.1.0.35 KB00125 - had the answer - I did not know this - the data cable was thicker - both cables where from Blackberry The Answer Some USB cables are provided for charging use only. These cables do not have pins for data transfer. Change to a data USB cable with pins for data transfer
